Education and training in the Life Sciences, and in Biotechnology has been indicated through a number of anecdotal assessments, and quantitative studies to be a major factor in the effective commercialization of products. Whether in production, R&D or on the business side, workforce issues continue to present challenges and competitive opportunities for life sciences companies. This study focuses on the impact that education and training is having on the commercialization of life sciences products and services.

Respondents included senior managers, VPfs of marketing, sales, product managers, and others. The ability to meet the demand for a skilled workforce, whether through in-house training or out-sourced education, carries long-term strategic implications for companies and requires accurate needs assessment, and lead-time. This White Paper provides a quantitative assessment of the industryfs current situation, and offers a view into potential industry bottlenecks that may develop based on potential shortfalls in education and training.
